Department of Biochemical Engineering Responsible for the Future Growth of Green!

The global trends of the 21st century are environment and energy and the green growth based on this is the direction that our society intends. The Department of Biochemical Engineering is developing new futuristic technologies that make it possible for human beings to maintain clean environments and continue to have a sustainable growth. Additionally, the Department is training the students who will grow into valuable talents the knowledge of advanced technology.

For this goal, there are environmental analysis laboratory which diagnoses the current status of the environment and suggests solutions, polymer surface chemistry laboratory which studies interfacial phenomena based on the physical chemistry of polymers, synthesis of pharmaceuticals laboratory which researches chemical synthesis for healthy and happy lives and finds bioactive compounds, functional polymer materials laboratory which develops contact lenses or electronic materials, bio-energy and environment laboratory which produces renewable energy through using microorganisms and enzymes and resolves environmental issues, and waste processing laboratory which effectively deals and recycles the waste, and others. Our faculty and the students are striving for research even today in the middle of the nights.
