South Korea is the world’s top 10 trading powers and among the export products, more than 50% of the exports are parts and products directly related to electronic engineering such as wired and wireless telephones, electronic integrated circuits, liquid crystal devices, and radio receivers, etc. Additionally, the green growth the government is promoting recently is based on the new engines of growth such as bio, green IT, energy, environment, fusing new industries, etc and electronic engineering is the basis for these new industries.

The undergraduate program for the Electronic Engineering Major at KangWon National University can be subdivided into disciplines of semiconductor and circuit design, computer applications and embedded systems, communication networks and signal processing, capstone design, etc. Through lectures on the latest theory and experiments using high-tech equipment, the students are able to acquire the basic knowledge and skills which are required in the detailed fields of electronics engineering. Ultimately, the students are trained as creative, practical and professional electronic engineers.
