Short Biography

Jong-Bin Lee, DDS/DMD, PhD, is a periodontist, researcher, and educator with dual specialist certifications in Periodontology and Advanced General Dentistry. He earned a BS, MS, and PhD from Yonsei University, where his dissertation focused on periodontal ligament stem cells and their regenerative potential in inflamed tissues. Currently an Associate Professor at Gangneung-Wonju National University, he has over 20 years of experience in multidisciplinary research, academic teaching, and clinical practice. He has authored numerous publications in prestigious journals, exploring overall dental areas such as periodontology, implantology, tissue engineering, and systemic correlations of periodontitis. He has successfully led multimillion-dollar research projects, including clinical trials and studies on innovative regenerative techniques. He is an active reviewer for renowned journals and holds leadership roles in academic/professional societies. His numerous awards include the KAP New Scholar Award, the JPIS Grand Prize for Review, and multiple honors for his research and conference presentations. He is a dedicated teaching mentor, guiding undergraduate/graduate students and professionals in developing innovative projects and achieving academic excellence. His clinical expertise extends to advanced periodontal surgeries, regenerative techniques, aesthetic dentistry, and innovative approaches in periodontology and implantology. In addition to his professional contributions, he actively engages in community public service, offering free dental care and public education on oral health. His future goals include integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI and big-data into periodontal research, advancing clinical protocols, and fostering global collaborations to elevate the field of dentistry. Through his combined dedication to research, teaching, clinical excellence, and service, he would like to continues to shape the future of periodontology and dental health worldwide.
